The State vs Jolly LLB 2 is an Indian 2017 Hindi-language courtroom black comedy film written and directed by Subhash Kapoor. The second installment of the Jolly LLB franchise, it is a sequel to the 2013 film Jolly LLB, and stars Akshay Kumar as Jagdishwar "Jolly" Mishra, a lawyer who fights a case against a ruthless and powerful lawyer Pramod Mathur, played by Annu Kapoor. The other pivotal characters are played by Huma Qureshi as Jolly's wife and Saurabh Shukla as the courtroom's judge. Shukla played the same role in Jolly LLB too.
Produced on a budget of ₹200 million (US$2.9 million), Jolly LLB 2 was theatrically released on 10 February 2017. The film received mixed to positive critical reviews from critics who particularly praised the direction, story and Kumar's performance. It has grossed over ₹1.98 billion (US$29 million) at the worldwide box office, emerging as a major critical and commercial success as well as one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time and the tenth highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2017.
